To our Year 11 and 12 Parents and Students,

The College is very mindful of the needs of our Year 12 students as they prepare for their HSC examinations under a Level 4 lockdown.
To support Year 12 students, NESA has moved back all major HSC submissions and examination dates to give NSW students additional time to complete their course work and prepare for their examinations.  Refer to the Amended HSC Timetable for further information.

With the Northern Rivers lockdown scheduled to end next Tuesday 17 August, the College plans to continue with the HSC Trial Exams as planned, with a postponement of the Trial Music exam only (originally scheduled for Tuesday 10 th August) to now take place on Thursday, 19 th August.

Teachers will communicate any adjustments to the HSC Trial Exam Schedule with their students and will regularly meet with students on Zoom and Google Classroom to ensure they are prepared and confident leading into these exams.

Music 1 Students
To limit the movement of NESA performance and language oral markers between schools within or outside Greater Sydney, the NESA COVID-19 Response Committee has provided COVID Special Consideration to the HSC performance and language oral exams across the state. Under the program, performance exams in dance, drama and music, and the language oral exams, can be organised by individual schools at a time that suits their local needs, in line with Health advice. The marks submitted by teachers will be moderated by NESA to ensure equity across the state.

Submitted works for Music (such as the music composition) will continue to be marked by NESA. The College will inform you of further details around the scheduling of the Music Performance examination in light of this information.

Please note: NESA has established a COVID-19 Special Consideration Program that is available for HSC students whose preparation or completion of a performance exam or major project is significantly impacted by COVID-19. Students must apply for this consideration at least 48 hours before the hand-in date of any submitted tasks.

Students should communicate with the College if they wish to apply for this Special Consideration Program, in addition to the College’s Level 4 application that is underway for the whole cohort.

We continue to pray safety over all of our students and parents.

Yours in Christ,
