Summerland Christian College has this year launched our Positive Behaviour project called ‘Summerland Super Actions’ (Primary) and ‘Summerland Actions’ (Secondary). It is an evidence-based whole school process to improve learning outcomes for all students. It specifically targets student’s ACTIONS.
The aim of the project is to help students "seek wisdom" through the core values of love, honour, self-control and commitment. It proactively helps students to know appropriate ways to talk, act and treat others. These actions are explored daily in each class, and we have a specific focus each week.
The Bible says ‘a child is known by his actions’ (Prov. 20:11). At Summerland we want to help our students know and do what is right because ‘it's who we are!’
We launched these programs at our Meet the Teacher night 3 weeks ago. Our focus for that week was teaching students how to line up appropriately when the bell goes. So, the teachers made a little video to help remind students what do do (and what not to do!). If you missed seeing this at the Meet the Teacher night, don’t worry - here it is!!
